Rodger Schmidt, CAI, AFDI

Rodger Schmidt is a Technical Trainer for ASSA ABLOY EMS Group based in Phoenix, Arizona.  He is an ALOA Certified ACE instructor and Certified Fire Door Inspector, who comes from over 22 years of fire, security and access control experience to include Sales Manager, Training Manager and Service Manager for over 100 techs at Sun Devil Fire and Security in Phoenix, Arizona.  We developed a state-of-the-art operational training center for all fire services for in-house hands-on training for technicians and for hosting the Arizona State Fire School program for building and fire inspectors to include class educational materials.  I developed an educational training program for testing certification of fire services – CSA or NICET credentials for fire alarms, sprinklers, kitchen hoods systems, fire extinguishers and backflow preventers for all technicians.

Rodger has worked the past 12 years for ASSA ABLOY training on products from HES/Securitron/Adams Rite and Alarm Controls product lines as a national technical trainer. He developed 26 unique in-person and virtual classes and conducted over 3,500 classes over this time with over 36,000 attendees including, locksmiths, access control companies, building and fire code officials to mention a few.  Classes include: Electronic Locking Hardware Codes, NFPA 80-Fire Rated Assemblies and 5 levels of classes relating to electricity, products and applications specific classes to installation standards.  Rodger has been a representative of ASSA ABLOY to SIA (Security Industry Association) as an instructor for the Security Project Manager Program for the last 9 years.
